Jon Lukomnik, Chair Emeritus
New York Classical Theatre is thrilled to honor Jon with a Royal Tribute at our first annual benefit.
Jon Lukomnik (Royal Honoree) served on the Board of New York Classical Theatre for ten years (2004-14), nine of those as Chair. Under Jon’s surefooted leadership, the company grew both artistically and financially, expanding to numerous venues throughout New York City and continuing to provide a growing audience with excellent classical theatre for free.
A recognized expert in corporate governance and institutional investing, Jon is one of the only people in the world to have run a top ten pension fund (New York City), been a managing director of a top ten hedge fund (CDC) and to have served on the creditor’s committee rehabilitating one of the largest frauds and bankruptcies in the world (Worldcom). He is managing partner of Sinclair Capital LLC, a strategic consultancy to institutional investors and the investment management industry as well as executive director for the IRRC Institute, which provides thought leadership at the intersection of corporate responsibility and the informational needs of investors. He is a trustee for the Van Eck mutual fund complex and serves on the Standing Advisory Group to the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.
Additionally, Jon is co-author of “The New Capitalists” (a pick of the year by the Financial Times). His newest book, “What They Do With Your Money: How the Financial System Fails Us and How to Fix It” will be published by Yale University Press in May and has drawn advance praise from former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown, former US Senator Chris Dodd, and Vanguard Founder Jack Bogle.
