Stephen Burdman
Stephen Burdman is the Artistic Director of New York Classical Theatre: Henry V (The New York Times Critic's Pick, Battery Park & Governors Island), The School for Husbands, Much Ado About Nothing (Battery Park & Central Park), Hamlet, Prince of Denmark (Voice Choice), King Lear (Central Park & Battery Park, Voice Choice), Misalliance, The Tragedy of Macbeth (2008), Love's Labour's Lost (BackStage Pick), The Comedy of Errors (Voice Choice), Mary Stuart, Scapin, As You Like It, The Feigned Courtesans, The Winter's Tale, The Triumph of Love, Much Ado About Nothing, The Taming of the Shrew, Twelfth Night, The Tragedy of Macbeth (2001), King Ubu and A Midsummer Night's Dream; The Rover, Richard III, Cymbeline, The Recruiting Officer and All's Well That Ends Well (Producer). Selected productions: Cymbeline (NYU-Tisch School of the Arts), The Tempest (Pick of the Week, LA Weekly), Much Ado About Nothing (Recommended, LA Weekly), As You Like It, Waiting for Godot, Hamlet (Outstanding Production 1994 Season, LA Times), Twelfth Night and Three Sisters. MFA from University of California, Irvine and graduate of the National Theater Institute (Eugene O'Neill Theater Center). Member of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society since 1994. Recipient of awards from the West Side Spirit, Off-Off Broadway Review and the American Theatre Wing for consistent commitment to excellence in theatre.
